Set The Choir Free ApS is a small, mission-driven startup dedicated to transforming choir education for children and young people. The company was founded with the purpose of creating a digital learning platform that brings the Set the Choir Free method to a wider audience — combining artistic freedom, playfulness, and strong pedagogical foundations.
From January 2026, Set The Choir Free ApS will be run full-time by founder Signe Sørensen, together with UX and web designer Katrine Kovacs, who works part-time. Like many creative education startups in an early phase, the company is in active development and is currently funded through crowdfunding support, philanthropic contributions, and early-stage investments.
From January 2026, the team will work intensively to complete and launch the teaching platform.
This is a purpose-driven company grounded in deep specialist knowledge, long-term commitment, and the belief that choir learning can be a powerful source of well-being and community for young people.
Set the Choir Free Publishing
Set The Choir Free Publishing is the publishing division of Set The Choir Free ApS, responsible for the release of our sheet music and choral arrangements.
All publications sold through this platform are released with permission from the relevant rights holders and registered with valid ISMN numbers, ensuring that composers and arrangers are properly credited and protected.
The publishing division ensures a professional and responsible handling of the publication process.
Royalties and KODA
At Set The Choir Free ApS, we work with full respect for the artists and rights holders whose works are included in our materials. We continuously enter into agreements with creators to ensure that their work is fairly and transparently compensated.
Music, videos, and audio clips on this website are played under a valid KODA licence, ensuring correct royalty payments to rights holders.
As Set The Choir Free ApS begins to publish and integrate videos as part of our teaching platform, all music and materials will be used with proper licensing agreements and rights clearance in accordance with applicable copyright regulations.
Consent and Personal Data Protection
At Set The Choir Free ApS, we are committed to safeguarding everyone who appears in our materials. Our teaching platform and website include video recordings featuring several hundred participants – including choir singers, musicians, teachers, and other collaborators.
We always obtain written consent from all participants (or from parents/guardians in the case of minors) whenever individuals can be recognized in the recordings.
This ensures that no one is shown without their approval and that all material is used with respect for each person’s rights and integrity. Our procedures are updated regularly to ensure full compliance with current regulations on data protection and the handling of personal information.
